Sometime when you are doing fieldwork, someone else’s equipment inserts itself into the field, altering the data. The sonic field is a dynamic place and having the right equipment can help you adapt to the environment and address challenges. As we get closer to the institute, we’ll have a list of items that will be helpful to bring. But we’ll provide much of the equipment, space, and time you’ll need to create, edit, process, and distribute field recordings. We’ll have a range of field recorders and microphones including contact mics and hydrophones. We’ll also have other sensors, accessories, and bits of gear to aid in your research.
